Chef Karim’s is an authentic Moroccan Restaurant serving a seven course ceremonial feast dinner that is eaten with the hands. From soup and salad to dessert, everything is included in one price. Wine and Beer are extra. (Forks and Knives are available upon request)

Hours of Operations

Chef Karim’s is open Wednesday through Sunday from 5:30 pm –close. Do you have a special event and it’s on a Monday or Tuesday? We will open for confirmed groups of 20 or more on the days we are normally closed.

Menu Considerations

Chef Karim’s is very sensitive to the needs of its clientele. Therefore, if you have a special dietary need, such as vegetarian or vegan or an allergy such as almonds or wheat. Please let us know in advance and we will try to create something for you to replace the item or leave it out when your item is prepared. We do not have a full bar, however we offer the finest wines and beers from around the world.

Special Events

Chef Karim’s was voted as “The Best Place to Hold a Fundraiser” or a special event. We are dedicated to our community and do what we can to contribute to organizations and their fundraising efforts.

Special Occasions

Two of the busiest days in our year are New Years Eve and Valentine’s Day. Please call as soon as possible to book on those days. See the Special Menus sections for details on Menus.

Graduation

We book our graduation parties on a first come, first serve policy. You will need a credit card to hold your graduation reservation. Because of the number of parties we book, please let us know in advance if your plans change so that we can offer another party your spot. Failure to cancel will lead to an additional charge.

Dress

There is no dress code at Chef Karim’s. You can come casual in jeans or dress up in formal wear. Anything goes. Remember that you might be called upon to dance, so dress appropriately.

Seating

All rooms have upholstered benches with cushions and pillows that can move around to meet all the needs of everyone. In large parties, there are backless benches that are placed to make the seating more accessible. If you need back support, just ask and we’ll seat you suitably. Chairs are available and we can accommodate wheel chairs. If you and your party would like to be seated on the floor it can be arranged, just let us know when you make your reservation. Seating is done on a reservation basis and then first come, first serve. To ensure that you get the seat you want, it is always recommended to make a reservation in advance. There are dining rooms with stairs, so if that is a concern, please let us know when you make your reservation. Belly Dancing Shows

There are no set times for belly dancers to perform. We open at 5:30 pm and belly dancing shows are done when reservations permit. At Chef Karim’s, we want everyone to participate and experience a belly dance show. Belly dancers perform Wednesday through Sunday. Tipping the belly dancer by placing money into her belt, arm bands or bra is your way of complimenting her performance. We encourage audience participation and tipping is always welcome.

Gratuity

There is a mandatory 20% gratuity added to parties of 6 or more. Our staff works extremely hard to provide a wonderful Moroccan experience for their customers and we know that our customers appreciate their efforts.

Sharing Plates

Here at Chef Karim’s we portion our food to accommodate one person. We do not allow our customers to share one ceremonial feast. You and your guest will be required to order a feast. We want to be able to sustain our restaurant so that our customers can have the enjoyment of our food. We thank you for your cooperation regarding this policy.

Special Discounts

We do offer Student Discounts on Wednesday, Thursday and Sundays. See our student menus located under special menus. There are also group discounts available. Please send us an email about your event or call 805-899-4780.

Gift Certificates

Gift Certificates are available in any denomination via mail or by coming by the restaurant.

Catering

Chef Karim’s can cater your special event. We have catered weddings here in Santa Barbara as well as Ventura and even Pasadena. We have been a featured restaurant as part of “Taste of the Town” for the last 10 years and the infamous “MDA; Black and Blue Ball” the last two years. We also cater private parties and school events. Catering needs may vary, so please check our catering section and let us know if you have any questions. The menus listed there can be altered or changed to fit your needs.
